UON’s School of Architecture and Built Environment has a distinctive approach to architectural and industrial design education. We promote a comprehensive understanding of design and architecture as the synthesis of the conceptual, the technological and the social. Our school's focus on the design studio, alongside our strong connections to practice, prepares students for successful professional careers. We also help our graduates realise their potential as agents for social change. As a city that is transforming into a knowledge and creative innovation centre, Newcastle provides a unique environment to put this learning into practice through live projects.

UON offers a Bachelor of Design (Architecture) and a Master of Architecture. Our students are taught by leading practitioners, including six AIA Gold- Medal winning architects. They have access to award-winning studios 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
